The Problem - Studies
Hello everyone, right down below I will be asking you a few questions. I am almost sure that you are reading this all alone so try to be honest with yourself. Have you spend hours of your life doing one of the following? 15-60 seconds of Tik-Tok, 30 minutes of a PUBG match, 90 minutes of Football, 3 hours of a T20 match, 8 hours of an ODI, 30 hours of a Test match, Scrolling through social media
Watching tv serials, movies, netflix shows, dramas, animes; Talking about Modi or Didi, Ronaldo or Messi, Kohli or Dhoni, sharing memes, watching stuff on YouTube, and so many more. And once you are done with all of them - Food, 8 hours of sleep and repeat again next day.
Does one or more of them sound familiar? If they do, then you are not alone. This is pretty much all we do most of the time. Maybe not all of us, but most of us. Please do not get me wrong. I am NOT AGAINST any of them but while doing the above mentioned things is completely harmless, but doing so over and over again has made us addicted to these things.
We are so much busy doing things that are of little to no importance that we forget to keep a track of things that we should actually do, just for the sake of entertainment. People forget about what they enjoy doing and instead try to find happiness online.
We spend hours and hours doing stuff that temporarily entertain us and as a result we students start neglecting our studies. A lot of people always ask the question what will studying all these subjects do for me? What people don't understand is that they help you understand how the world around you works. A little history about your country, the way things interact with each other, the proper way to calculate so that you get the best deals while shopping, the secrets of living a healthy life. But most importantly it helps you realize what you like the most. There is a reason why you have different subjects & topics and not one massive subject about the world.
We students never realize this because we were introduced to studying as a way to pass exams and get to the higher grades. From 10 to 12 to college to job. We have never been introduced to studying for the sole purpose of learning something new. Just blind competition. You should remember that your scores won't help you but your true skills will. People will only congratulate you for a good score but they will praise you for your skills. We blame exams for the wrong reasons. Exams are not a way to rank students from the smartest to dumbest. They are meant for an individual to understand what they know and what they don't. But no one has ever taught this to us.
The only reason why people look for entertainment online is because they were never shown the pleasure of learning. Not just learning the subjects but learning about the world, learning about your interests and learning about yourself. Don't think about studying as a way to get scores but as a way to learn new things. Doing so will definitely help you. And I am not just talking about Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics but Art, Literature, Gaming, Designing and so many more. There is so many things you can do once you put your heart into what you like to do and study about it. Not for the sake of exams but for the sake of yourself.
